The wisdom of the old!

I was on my way home yesterday in a Danfo. At a particular bus stop, an old woman on crutches came in. Unlike the danfo duo (driver and conductor), they were not in a hurry and the bus waited while she came in with help from the conductor.
As she came in and sat down, she prayed and blessed them both. Her prayers did not stop until at another stop, a young girl in jeans and a short tight top came in. As she sat next to old woman, the woman hardly stopping a breath admonished her in Yoruba. “It is written in the Bible that women should not put on men’s clothing”. The young girl arched her eyebrows and I knew she did not appreciate being preached at. The old woman went on – “Did you not realise that as you came in you blouse lifted and a part of your bottom could be seen?” Of course by this time the bus was in an uproar.
The silly conductor replied that he liked seeing such sights and another passenger countered and thanked the old woman for speaking to the girl. She replied and said that she had to talk because they (girls in such attires) might not realise such things are wrong.
I was in a mood when I got into the bus but left with a lighter heart haven laughed and laughed.
As I laughed, I thought: If we had more old ladies! but another thought “How many times do you listen? There truly are many times when words from old lips come past my ears and without even thinking I dismiss such words. Only when I have fallen into hot soup do i remember and then retrace my steps (if i have truly learnt my lesson) The ways of the young.

you write beautifully but you hide a lot of info. I believe write-ups like this are suppose to be insightful and revealing leading to learning.
I love to x-ray your heart and find out your opinion on the young lady and her fashion?
Is it because of the age of an individual that makes them right?
She could as well have been wrong.
You have grown accustomed to the Danfo and I believe it holds a special part of your life.
    Where are u dear?
