Ki Lo Se Wa?

What is wrong with us?
I really do not understand and cannot comprehend what our problem as a nation is. The latest air crash is certainly one too many. What is wrong? What is needed to overhaul the aviation industry? the transport system in our nation? Many questions that need to be answered.

A dark pall has fallen over our country. The foreign press glee as they note “Nigeria  has one of the unsafest aviation records worldwide”, trust that the news of the crash can be found under the “Most Viewed-World” section of online news bulletins.

It is with a heavy heart i write, Why must it take so long for there to be a turn around? How many crashes must occur before standards can be enforced. How many more Nigerians (‘big’ and ‘small’) must die before change comes?
Many more families have been thrown into mourning this year as a result of road traffic accidents than air crashes. On the lagos lagoon, more than 20 people died when their boats capsized in the month of October alone.
Do we have a government that can be compassionate and concerned enough to systematically change things round or one that is more adept at signing and sending condolence messages, very proficient at building cenotaphs and organising memorial services and rememberance prayers than overhauling the transporation industry?
