I have been annoyed!

In the last couple of days I have allowed myself the pleasure of getting very angry at any and everything I was not happy about.
I wallowed in this anger-party until I felt it tearing away my insides and saw it gush forth as little geysers and volcanoes of hot liquid scalding and ‘hotting’ everyone who ‘crossed my path’.
I remember coming home a couple of times after yet another ‘danfo’ incident or a particularly annoying day at work and starting the medley ‘I’m annoyed’. My mum who was used to these outbursts would simply (and to my annoyance) say ‘And you think being annoyed is a virtue’. But mummy i’d pout ‘Do you know what so so so said?’ , How could he/she act like that? and I’d add for good measure ‘I’d never treat anyone like that’ and she’d say again this time pointedly bursting my heat bubble; ‘Toyin Life is not fair’ and she’d have succeeded in deflating this hot-headed bubble.

If I decided to go on venting opposing her every little comment or trying to get her to break the listening silence which she retreated to when she guessed Toyin was in one of her moods, I’d get a wee bit irritated, I wanted an argument (as if she was the one who got me into the mood in the first place), I wanted a fight, I wanted to continue the debate and point out every little bit of injustice I had experienced.

I never got it (from her at least) what I got was a slow quiet understanding that silence or quiet calm is usually able to cool hot situations.
Yeah thank God for mothers!

Well what was I annoyed about? several things but I’ve cooled down considerably which always happens! Looking back I can see a trail albeit a short trail of damage wrought by this mini-vesuvius. Thankfully its a much shorter trail than it used to be,Yipee! I’m learning and growing! Even if I say so myself!
