The fear of the 3rd Mainland

The title of this post sounds to me like the title of a book I might want to read. I know however it is no such thing (at least one I havent come across yet).
If you live in Lagos or anywhere in Nigeria you should know what I am talking about. The closure of the Third Mainland Bridge, the longest bridge connecting the Lagos Island to the Mainland and one that I daresay is vital in making Lagos what it is.

Myself, hubby and Lase have been out of the house these past 2 days before six am and today we were out of the house before we realised it was just a little past 5am. We had been working with a timepiece that was running faster than the time.

…continued 31st Dec. ’08

Hmmm thinking back to those days, I wonder if they have really ended. The opening of the bridge seemed worse than when the bridge was partially closed (at least for me!). Halleluyah more people have become car owners or so it seemed! Waow! thinking that 2009 would bring respite if any of the following resolutions come true:
1. Get another job on the mainland or outside Lagos.
2. Fasola’s light rail project is miraculously delivered in 2009…(what is the scope of this project?) How would it get to the Island…
3. Alternative means of transportation are introduced – Speed boats? Yes please, from Oworonshoki to VI…I’ll subscribe if safety is considered top priority!
4. Exit from the rate race and start my very own enterprise….

…I know I said the same things last year, but you’ll see!
