Thanking God for 2008

I have so many unwritten posts…

Many in my draft page – which I have considered unfit for publishing until I edit some more or until they are complete!

Many more in my head where I’m mulling over putting down what I term incendiary notes or leaving them where they originated at the risk of frying my brains lol!

Writing gives an outlet for some of us and when I dont write, I become constipated! Well looking back at the last time I put a post up and now you have a feeler of how full I am….

Its sort of easy following this subject and before I get sidetracked, let me pen what I am grateful TO GOD for in this outgoing year….

…For His faithfulness and love to me which are constant and new every morning.
…For my husband whose face I’ve woken up to see everyday since June. (Our long distance marriage is over)
…For my beautiful daughter who has grown in leaps and bounds and whose antics have taught me to truly laugh.
…For my sister whose friendship has kept me sane & whose approval means so much.
…For my little brother whose ‘flashes’ have been speed bumps in my path.
…For my parents who have become my friends (this year!!!)
…For life and the very fact that I’m alive and well.

…For His love which has been constant even when I’m on a downhill roll.
…For His constant call to a prodigal daughter.
…For lessons learnt.
…For lessons I have refused to learn and which you are still teaching.
…For friends whose constant flow and sometimes diminished presence have been a blessing.
…For friends who are just a gsm phone call away.
…For friends who I had thought I would never meet and have been brought my way again because of Facebook.
…For friends whose lives have been lights in this dark dark world.
…For acquaintances whose shining lights have helped light up the darkness in my part of the world.
…For everyone whose testimonies have given me hope and caused me to go on believing.

…For the blessings of gifts, life, good health, a job.
…For the blessings of new shoes, new clothes, new accessories, new things.
…For my clothes that are 7years old and even older and are still wearable.
…For my hair which has grown and grown after being cut & cut!

…For the nights when I have been unable to sleep
…For the days when I have fallen asleep at my desk
…For the thoughts which have come from nowhere and been such great ideas that I know they could have only come from you.
…For answered prayers
…For July 7,08 which could have been my memorial but I was around to celebrate.
…For the joy of life you’ve given me.

…For the confidence to finally get behind that wheel.
…For the lessons in humility.
…For the lessons in repentance.
…For the lessons about salvation.
…For the lessons in giving.
…For the lesson that my life is a gift and I should savor and live each day fully and as if its my last.
…For all you have done for me, through me and with me in 2008. Oluwa mo dupe, Oluwa mo yin o! Oluwa mo gbe o ga!

…For reminding me again and again that ONLY Oluwa-to-yin! (God is worthy to be praised)

Writing does give a number of us an avenue to “discharge” all forms of musings, misgivings, desires, etc. What’d the world be without writing, for not too eloquent people like some of us? lol.

About “Thanking God for 2008″, I want to join you in the procession as you dance to the altar of thanksgiving. I have so many reasons to thank Him that all I can say is “Thank You.” I’ve not been where I desire. Likewise, I’ve not acquired all I would. But the fact that I can aspire is more than enough reason to give thanks.

    “Osuba re re o (2x)
    Oba taa o ri
    Taa rise owo re
    Osuba re re o.”

PS: I’m envious of you being with your husband…lol. Howbeit, I’m not complaining. I still want to thank God – I have a lovely wife, with a lively kid making the family package complete! What more could I ask for?!

Very great article, an evidence of a deeply thinking mind; welldone. It’s really easy to take things for granted.

By the way, you write very well, i’ll join “Stand tall the activist” in saying you need to post all the articles in draft.

    Have a fantastic year ahead.
