Fear Not…

Its only looking back now that I realise my life was a minefield of fear. I was afraid and I did not realise it. My thoughts were swamped with evil and fearful thoughts. There is no point recounting them as they are not edifying in anyway and looking back I cannot believe I gave such thoughts any room to breed.

In retrospect, I point to the source of my wrong thoughts as ‘feeding on garbage’. Like IT lingua, Garbage in, Garbage Out.

I’m a Christian but I wasn’t living by the book (the Bible) and I do attribute this singular fact to the direction my life was headed. The funny thing was I didn’t even realise it…. Does, “there is a way which seemeth right to a man but the end is destruction” sound familiar?

Waking up, I had a number of books and resources which I believe God used to set my feet on the right path…. Please let me share!!!

1. The Bible – (Amplified version lightens up verses beautifully)

2. Kenneth E. Hagin materials (books & tapes) – I’ve read so many but i’ll compile a list later.

3. Andrew Murray’s With Christ in the School of prayer.

4. Celebration of Discipline: The path to spiritual growth by Richard Foster.

5. E.W Kenyons’s -Jesus the Healer, New creation realities, The 2 types of faith, the 2 types of righteousness. For those of you who live in Lagos, Laterna bookstore has some.

6. Christian audio (www.christianaudio.com) a wonderful resource for audiobooks, you get one free book every month.

7. On cable TV, TBN, Daystar are the only channels I watch (apart from Cbeebies – my daughters childrens channel). I listen to Joseph Prince and I’ve been so blessed by his message of Grace……Jesus’s message of grace!!!!

8. Free podcasts of Joseph Prince, Joyce Meyer, and several other beautifully blessed children of God etc!!!

9. Pastor Gregory Dickow’s daily email for 40days on ‘A fast from wrong thinking’. Just google it!

10. My Ipod which is a gem of a resource right now

Its truly amazing how much God is saying to us. I have realised  that he loves me, is willing to commune with me, bless me and enjoy my fellowship with him.

My thoughts are daily being cleansed…daily being brought captive to the obedience to Christ as I renew my mind with his thoughts (his Word)! Its a daily battle but one I’m sure to win because I am victorious with Christ!

Thanks for the followup on the last entry. Fear rules my life…I’m aware of it but I haven’t yet acted on the solutions that I know I need to implement…I have to put God in the centre of my life or nothing will change.

“I’m a Christian but I wasn’t living by the book (the Bible) and I do attribute this singular fact to the direction my life was headed” really resonated with me.

Hi GNG! please get rid of the fear….you really do have nothing to be afraid of. Truly! Getting into God’s word for me did it (and is doing it)! There are 2 voices speaking to us on a daily basis – Satan’s and Gods and though I’m apt to say eeeewwww at anyone suggesting I’m listening to the Devil’s voice its true when we give in to fear!

Thanks for your comment on this post. You will not know how much it blessed & helped me!!!
